Thursday, April 25, 2019 ELA: Book Clubs continued. How we operate, what our goals are, how we will celebrate our success...discussed. Read Aloud Social Studies: Biz Town: Financial Institutions.Various ways of paying for items was discussed, as well as the pros and cons of each method (cash, checks, debit card, credit card, gift card, prepaid cards....) was discussed.Job descriptions for all Biz Town jobs were distributed for taking home, discussing, and choosing 3 jobs.Paul Revere article was due on Friday If I was in Charge of the World poem was completed Friday on chromebooks Atlas is due Wednesday.Let's try to help the kiddos get into more responsible habits this last quarter of fifth grade!Students did receive their atlas homework which is due on Wednesday, April 10th.Thursday, April 4,, 2019 ELA: Literature or Informative review task cards for review Quiet Focused Reading Read Aloud Correcting of materials from Wednesday Social Studies: We watched April Morning.Looking at their own interests and skills was encouraged (even when this is but a one day position.) Job application forms were completed.Friday, April 26, 2019 ELA: Book Clubs Read Aloud/Discussion Phobia words were researched Social Studies: Biz Town: Check registry completion.We discussed expectations at assemblies and had our first assembly at day's end today; the kids were great! If you are interested in ordering any books, please send a check made out to Scholastic Book Club and completed order form by Wed. Social Studies: Biz Town calculating business costs (Biz Town dollars.) Atlas page is due on Wednesday, May 8th. All children get pictures taken, whether you are ordering any to purchase or not. If you have your "homework" from our conference completed, please send it back with your child.
