Welcome to the Youth Tour Essay Contest of Callaway Electric Cooperative. Look for information on the 2020 contest coming next January. They travel with a group of over 100 high school juniors from across Missouri who will meet up with more than 1,500 youth from across the U. Three top scoring finalists are awarded all expense paid trips to D. They came to the Cooperative in April of 2019 to compete for 3 all expense paid trips to Washington, D. on the Missouri Youth Tour and 0 college scholarships. We were proud of their efforts in the 2019 contest.

Most cooperatives strive to adhere to seven cooperative principles, which combine to help build trust between the co-op, its members and the community.

Cooperatives are nonprofit, member-owned electric utilities. Co-ops have two basic sources of capital to finance long-term investment in electric utility infrastructure: debt and equity.

Please attach a copy of your transcript to the scholarship application, and a short essay on why electric cooperatives are important to you.

Applications must be submitted to Farmers Electric Cooperative, Inc., PO Box 330, Greenfield, IA 50849, by close of business day April 1.

The top winners of the contest are awarded an all expense paid week long trip to Washington, D. The trip includes visits to monuments, memorials, museums and landmarks.

How to participate To participate in the contest applicants are first asked to write an essay. The finalists are invited to the Cooperative for a written test and interview with a panel of three judges. The remaining finalists will receive a non-renewable 0 college scholarship to be awarded the first semester of the finalist's freshman year of college.
